The tournament was named in honor of Year of the Dog as today was Chinese New Year day.
This tournament used a handicap. Each team handicap was determined using the "tens column" for the number of points they had won in Season 4. For each difference in handicap the team with the greater number would reduce their number of players by one. The handicap of each player was as follows:
