Lenny Foster had won the Western States Open the previous year, 2003, when it was hosted by the BUSL in Idaho.
There were 7 players so we decided to go with a single program with no playoffs. Goal differential, it was decided, would not be used as a tie breaker. If there was an overall tie for 1st, it would be decided with a shoot-out.
